🍪 Gravel cake – a classic that always tastes good
Gravel cake is a nostalgic favorite that many remember from childhood. It is easy to make, crispy and sweet, and is perfect for coffee or as a small dessert. A recipe that never goes out of style.

Gravel cake is a traditional cookie that combines simplicity with great taste. It gets its name from its crispy and slightly "gravelly" consistency, and is a classic on the cake table.
Ingredients
200 g butter
150 g sugar
1 egg
250 g wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla sugar
Preparation
Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and mix well. Mix the flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar, and fold into the dough.
Shaping
Roll small balls of the dough and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Press them down lightly with a fork to create a pattern and even baking.
Baking
Bake the cookies at 180 °C for approx. 10–12 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool on a wire rack – then they will be crispy and delicious.
