Ingredients / Facts
250 g wheat flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
3 dl milk
50 g melted butter
1 tsp vanilla sugar (optional)
Mix the dry ingredients: Place flour, sugar, baking powder and vanilla sugar in a bowl.
Add the wet ingredients: Beat in eggs, milk and melted butter until smooth.
Rest: Let the batter stand for approx. 10 minutes to swell.
Bake: Pour batter into a hot waffle iron and bake until the waffles are golden brown.
Serve: Place the waffles on a wire rack to keep them crispy.
Technique / Process
It is important to have the right temperature on the waffle iron – too low heat gives pale waffles, while too high heat can burn them. The resting time makes the batter smoother and gives better consistency. Melted butter gives crispiness and flavor.
